The Vizsla is
also called the Hungarian Pointer. At the end of World War I, the Vizsla
was all but extinct. The importation of the breed into the United
States began in the 1950s. The breed was admitted into the American
Kennel Club in 1960.
Individuals looking for a vizsla puppy should contact the Breeder
Referral committee chair. We encourage you to educate yourself about
vizslas - the articles linked below will be helpful. It is also
strongly reccommended that you interact with real live vizslas - we
encourage you to come to any of our events to learn more about the
breed. The Fun Day, hunt tests, field trials, and specialities are all
great ways to see the breed in action.
